Building Your Story: Social Media Strategies for Manufacturers

In today’s fast-paced, digital-driven climate, core business functions like business development and employee recruitment are now happening online. Potential customers and employees are evaluating your company every day based on your digital footprint. For example, did you know that customers today make some 60% of their buying decision before even contacting the supplier or manufacturer? Make sure your website, electronic communication materials, and social media accounts are telling the story your key audiences need to hear. Learn some small changes that can make a big difference.

Following the seminar, participants will break into work sessions to establish or enhance social media presence.

The Social 101: For those who do not have a Facebook page for their business or are unsure if it is complete and want a refresher course, this breakout session is a great opportunity to get step-by-step guidance from members of the NTMA IT Committee. Bring your own laptop or other devices as well as Facebook login information (if you have a personal Facebook page) and we’ll help you get started!

The Social 401: While manufacturers acknowledge that having a presence on social media is important, they are also quick to ask a whole list of questions: What social channels should I be using? What should I be posting? And what should I expect to get from being on social media? In this breakout session, Bull Moose Marketing’s President of Client Strategy, Ron Mattocks, will share how social media use within manufacturing differs from other B2B industries and then walk manufacturers through how to select the best social media channels for their business, how to determine what content to post on those channels, and how to measure the impact of social media in relation to their company’s goals.
