Scholarship Qualifications
Planning to continue your education in a manufacturing related program?

  1. Applicants must submit Scholarship & Awards Application and supporting documentation by April 15.

  2. Applicants must reside in Northwestern Pennsylvania (Crawford, Erie, Mercer, Venango or Warren Counties).

  3. Applicants must be a graduating senior from a northwestern Pennsylvania* high school or have graduated high school or equivalent. Applicants who are currently unemployed, underemployed, or an incumbent worker residing in Northwestern Pennsylvania may be considered.

  4. Scholarship applicants must be accepted into a secondary institution or training facility to further their education relating to the manufacturing industry and must provide a copy of letter of acceptance.* 

  5. Applicants grades and attendance will be reviewed, with a high school transcript provided by the Applicant.  

  6. Applicants must provide at least one letter of recommendation.

  7. Applicants must complete a short essay based on the following prompts: Why are you interested in pursuing a career within the manufacturing industry? Where do you see yourself in 5 years? What are your long-term goals? What or who influenced you to pursue a career in the manufacturing field?

Tooling Award Qualifications
Going directly into the precision machining trade after high school? We want to help seniors with tools needed for the trade! 

  1. Applicants must submit Scholarship & Awards Application and supporting documentation by April 15.

  2. Applicants must be attending Crawford Tech or Erie County Technical School for precision machining or specialized machining program through their high school. 

  3. Applicants must be a graduating senior from a northwestern Pennsylvania high school or have graduated high school or equivalent.

  4. Applicants must have secured full-time employment in tooling and machining trade and must provide a letter of recommendation from the employer, techincal instructor or co-op coordinator.

  5. Applicants grades and attendance will be reviewed, with a high school or tech school transcript provided by the Applicant.  

  6. Applicants must complete a short essay based on the following prompts: Why are you interested in pursuing a career within the manufacturing industry? Where do you see yourself in 5 years? What are your long-term goals? What or who influenced you to pursue a career in the manufacturing field? 
  7. Recipients will be selected by the NWPA NTMA Education Foundation Scholarship Committee. 

8. Recipients will be selected by the NWPA NTMA Education Foundation Scholarship Committee. Scholarship winner must attend the scholarship presentation ceremony in July (or send a representative). Scholarship payment will be make to the student's educational institution to be applied to their account.

*Special criteria for Crawford Heritage Community Foundation Scholarships: Applicant must be a graduating senior from a high school in Crawford County.  Preference is given to an applicant who plans to pursue a certificate or degree in the fields such as, machining and CNC programming, mechanical, electrical, technical and/or precision engineering, industrial maintenance, and robotics.
